I am having trouble getting a client to relax her limb when I am doing the Downing's Screen. I have tried the leg shaking trick but no luck. Cleint is ok up until full hip flexion then on the return she always takes over.
Anyone got some methods to stops the client taking control of their limb and keeping it relaxed?

Tried slower and still getting the client tensing up. Just can't get them to relax. I suspect that because I am now stressing out on this it is not helping. The start is fine from knee and hip extension, but when returning the leg from hip and knee flexion they always start taking control of their legs.
With all my clients I am getting no movement in either direction (XX) which I don't believe is coincidence. (I expect if the hip legs and hip musles are active during the screen you are not going to get movement).
Apart from knocking them out cold with a frying pan I am out of ideas on how stop them taking control.
I will endevour next time to concentrate more on keepiong myself relaxed, than them, to see how that works but further suggestions greatkly welcomed.
I must say its unusual for every client to be unable to relax, maybe you should have your technique checked? we have a mentor day coming up soon, try callig the office for details. alternatively, call the office to see when the next course is on and drop by for the downings sign section and lets go throuhg it again. hope that helps.
