Hi

I have a friend who is 5 months pregnant.  The bump has just began to grow noticeably over the last 3 weeks.  She is an avid ski tourer, and she approached me yesterday as she has just started getting pain on the outside of her knee when skiing/and after about 30 mins walking.  She was interested in getting a screening or doing some of the I move freely exercises if this would help, she has started doing some yoga/pilates moves 3 times a week as she thinks this will help.

Pregnancy comes up as a red flag on the consent form.  Are there any safe screens/exercises she could do?

Thanks

Sandra

Hi sandra, you're quite right to question this.  After 5 months, and if she is able to do yoga, she should be fine with iMoveFreely classes. keep clear of the obvious things like getting her prone and high level isometric work (not really part of IMF anyway), but otherwise she will know what she can do - as you'll know mum's are pretty perceptive of their limitations, as long as she's sensible she should be OK. any concerns, she should se her GP of course.  thanks
