Advance Nerve Mobilisation

Hi all,

I have a question regarding nerve mobilisation that we learnt in the second course. Its regarding both the sciatic and median nerve.

When carrying out the slump test in the first module we were taught to sit with hands open on the knees as oppose to gripping the side, because as our heads were down it would effect the median nerves in the arm because the fingers are gripping the edge of the seat.

In module two we were taught to use resistance against nerve tension to help it release. I have just thought the we are going to using our fingers to grip the resistance band, so would this not effect our median nerve whilst working our scaitic nerve against resistance?

If so what would be best to do instead?

Thanks
