I have a case study person who didn't have a lot to work on in the first place but who has improved massively and that is good. Problem is her 4-sign on the left side has become worse. At the moment she also has her right leg longer than the left by about half a centimetre. She was at first doing the leg press then I moved her onto the 4-sign. But if this is making her worse what else can I try?
Without knowing what the original results were and LLD, its difficult to say, as we dont know the pattern. However if the test is getting worse, then either something else is causing it and you need to look at all the tests to see what that might be or its a temporary thing and its their body adpating or you need to swap it for Leg press only. the latter is the safest option.
She has 1/2 cm leg length difference left longer (since the start). At the start she had positives in downings, 4-sign just because of a-symetry, SLR, pec minor, thomas test right only, QL, spinal rotation, gillets, slightly on left subscapularis, slightly on left infraspinatus and left upper trap. Now she has positives in LLD, downings on right side withe medial rotation, 4-sign left but now much higher than before, pec minor on right, spinal rotations has improved a lot and left subscapularis. Everything else is now better. Is this enough information?
Hi, yes thats great thanks. yes i'd do leg press instead of 4-sign exercise. I'd also consider soft tissue work (massage) to the gltes/pirformis on that side too. If you have those skills thats great, if not then refer on. hope that helps.
